Our capability extends across hydrocarbon, hydrogen, syngas, ammonia and urea plant production technologies, including utilities system engineering for steam plant, cooling water, air and power requirements, refrigeration and fuel gas systems.

RICHARD WILSON
Founder / Process Director
CPENG
Richard is a Chartered Professional Engineer with 30+ years of experience in the oil & gas and petrochemical industries. He has held senior leadership roles in technical engineering and management in both contracting and plant operations environments. Richard founded PGL with the desire to create a high value centre of excellence delivering “concept to commissioning” process engineering with supporting disciplines – building a company of great people passionate about design, development, innovation and the science and profession of engineering.
JOE EMANS
Projects Director
Joe is our Projects Director and specialises in project management and engineering management. Joe is a chartered Mechanical Engineer with more than 15 years of experience managing teams and engineering projects. This includes managing teams of up to 105 engineers and designers and FEED projects up to $1.6 Billion USD in the UK, Middle East and NZ. He has also held senior leadership team roles for several organisations and has specialist expertise in computational fluid dynamics. He joined Process Group in 2021.
RICK PALMER
Principal Rotating Equipment Engineer
Rick has over 30 years experience in the Oil and Gas industry, the last 20 years as a Machinery Engineer, working with Process Group since 2021. He has a wide range of rotating equipment experience in Oil and Gas applications including gas processing, water reinjection, wellhead compression, pipeline compressors and multiphase pumps. He has extensive international and local experience in all facets of project development from concept selection to installation and commissioning on both greenfield and brownfield projects. He has worked in New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Australia, and South-East Asia.
KEVIN HAYTON
Principal Control Systems / Functional Safety Engineer
Kevin is a chartered professional, control and safety systems engineer with more than 35 years’ experience in automation and safety system design, installation, commissioning and maintenance and functional safety. He has extensive experience working in New Zealand, the UK and South Africa. Kevin has worked across a number of industry sectors including Food & Beverage, Military, Forestry and Oil & Gas and has been working at Process Group since September 2020.
CHRISTOPHE MASSA
Senior Instrument and Control Engineer
Christophe is a Senior Instrument and Control Engineer with 20 years of experience, the last 10 years as a project Lead I,C & E Engineer. Having a wide range of I,C & E expertise, he specialises in field instrumentation and control systems. Christophe has gained extensive international and local experience, having worked across a number of industries in Europe and New Zealand. His capabilities extend across all project phases from concept selection to commissioning. Christophe has joined Process Group in 2022.
ALEX RUDD
Principal Process Engineer
Alex is a Principal Process Engineer with more than 16 years of engineering experience, working with Process Group since 2019. Experienced in all aspects of process engineering design, he specialises in process simulation & relief and flare system design. Alex has gained extensive international and local experience, having worked in the UK, Australia, South Korea and New Zealand. His capabilities extend across all project phases from concept through to construction.
STUART FREW
Principal Process Engineer
Stuart is a Principal Process Engineer with over 20 years’ experience working for operating companies and engineering consultancies in NZ and the UK. Most of Stuart’s experience has been gained in Oil and Gas however he started his career with a number of years in the Pulp & Paper and Timber Processing industries. Stuart also has 5 years’ experience as a Front End Engineer managing engineering and nontechnical studies for major capital projects in the oil and gas industry. Stuart has specific expertise in modelling and optimisation of multiphase pipeline systems in addition to broad process engineering experience through all project phases.
TSION BEHAR
Senior Process Engineer
Tsion is a Senior Chemical Process Engineer with more than 30 years of experience across a wide range of industries, including oil & gas, chemicals & petrochemicals, power generation and more. He has performed key roles in planning the design and construction of chemical manufacturing and processing plants with multi-million-dollar project delivery success. Tsion is proficient in best engineering practices, including AS/NZ as well as other international codes and standards, and has demonstrated grasp in managing cross-disciplinary projects in challenging environments.
CAYLEA RUDD
Senior Process Engineer
Caylea is a Senior Process Engineer, and joined the Process Group team in 2022. She has extensive experience, having worked locally in New Plymouth, as well as internationally in London and Melbourne. Experienced in various aspects of process engineering, Caylea has worked in process engineering design and with multiple clients on secondment. She has a range of project knowledge having worked on all project phases as well as on safety case assessments throughout her process engineering career.
ENRICO GROND
Senior Process / Project Engineer
A Senior Process Engineer, Enrico joined Process Group in 2021. He has extensive expertise in front-end project management and concept development, as well as technical expertise in various aspects of process engineering design from front-end design to detailed design specialising in relief systems. He has worked as a project lead/manager within a dedicated front-end team as well as being the technical process engineering resource, in both the chemical industry and the oil and gas industry.
